Taxi (starring Queen Latifah(Taxi Driver) and Jimmy Fallon(Slapstick Cop)) is "chock full of the nutty antics" of Fallon) and the comedic timing of them both ,with much good acting from their many "second bananas" inclusive of New York's Finest(cops)and the villains being a quartet of 4 Portuguese women with the human interest chapters being of Fallon's mom (due to being a litty tipsy good at making liquers a la Margueritas) and Queen Latifah's boyfriend who melts down Fallon's police badge to a "money clip"..The stunts are just right;car chases made less tedious with discussions as to where 'the pursued' were at different moments in time; and ends with the "Shero(heroine)"(Queen Latifah) changing careers(for the 3rd time: bike messenger, cabi/hack),then as a racecar NASDAQ driver sponsored by Banks of New York).

TAXI is one silly little movie, but has enough laughs and some really innovative chase scenes, to be passing entertainment. Queen Latifah struts her stuff gloriously as novice cabbie Belle Williams who dreams one day of being a NASCAR driver. Jimmy Fallon is fun as Detective Washburn, a bumbling accident prone cop who couldn't drive a vehicle if his life depended on it. When Washburn loses his driver's license and is demonted to a beat cop, he shanghais Belle's cab to stop a robbery in progress. The robbers are four beautiful chicks who are pretty darned good at what they do and the rest of the movie finds Belle and Washburn trying to bring the girlies down.
It's all preposterous and loopy as heck, but Latifah and Fallon have a good rapport; Ann-Marget is fun as Fallon's floozy mother, obviously having a great time in a non-traditional role. Only Jennifer Esposito as Marta, Fallon's boss and ex-girlfriend seems miscast; it's hard to picture this buxom beauty as a cop, let alone a lieutenant.
But TAXI is fun viewing and you could do lots worse.

Andy Washburn is a thoroughly inept police officer who's such a bad driver that his very own lieutenant takes his license away from him, leaving him without wheels to do his job in crime-ridden Manhattan. Belle Williams is a newly licensed cabbie, whose absurdly hopped-up taxi Washburn jumps into when he needs to get to the scene of a bank robbery. Together, they become an unlikely crime-fighting duo as they go after a quartet of gorgeous Brazilian criminals who look like they just stepped out of the pages of Vanity Fair or Vogue (quite possibly the least believable criminals in movie history). And if this synopsis doesn't sound like the setup for a cinematic disaster to you, you obviously have a much lower threshold for movie comedy than I do.
Trapped in a vehicle that is practically a blueprint for how NOT to make an effective comedy, Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon have nothing to do for 97 minutes but exchange witless one liners in between highly preposterous and ultimately very boring car chases. Although the two lead actors try their best with what they've been given, they're eventually overcome not only by bad writing and by-the-numbers direction but by a bunch of supporting actors who give uniformly dreadful performances (including a sadly misused Ann Margaret).

This movie was hilarious i just loved it. The action and comedy in it was Awesome and don't forget the hot Super Model bad guys. That was clever!. I would've never thought of putting super models as bad guys, wich makes the movie more funny. Jimmy Fallon is very funny & Queen latifah is just as fuuny and sasy. This is the best role she had since Chicago & For This movie to be Jimmy Fallons first movie(That I Know Of) He did awesome. This Movie Is Great. Oh, and the Taxi Queen Latifah Drives is Cool. Oh yeah this movie has nothing to do with the tv show. Thought I'd let you know.
Plot: Belle(Queen Latifah) Just got her Taxi license and can't wait to start her new job. She starts off pretty good untile she meets Detective Washburn. Who is a pretty crummy cop, he can't get a handdle on things very well. So when they get in a werck Belle losses her Taxi, & wasburn gets demoted for beign a screw up. So the two Decide to help each other. Can they Get the villians and save the day, well you got to rent the movie and find out.

Queen Latifah rules like she dose in most of her movies in this stupid but good comadey. The film stars Jimmy Fallon as a bad cop and a terrible driver( as if he would be allowed in the police if your a bad driver as he), Fallon then teams up with Latifah to catch bank Robers. The film is funny from start to finish but is really stupid. You have to turn of your brain to like this movie. It has many stupid moments but it's a movie. Overall the movie is really funny and you wont be disapointed.
